Aboyne Golf Course is an immaculately maintained 18 hole course set in beautiful highland surroundings offering what many believe to be the best test of golf in the region.
As early as 1881 golf was played over nine holes on the village green. In 1905 Mr E Cecil, the then owner of Aboyne Castle Estate, agreed to lease land on the existing site for the provision of a golf course "for the people of Aboyne". Since then the course has been altered and lengthened on several occasions, the present 18 holes being opened for play in August 1991.
Set amidst the scenic splendour of Royal Deeside, Aboyne Golf Club can fairly claim to have the finest vistas and panoramas of any course in Scotland.
