From the Edinburgh city by-pass, take the Lothianburn exit and proceed south on the A702 Abington / Carlisle road for 200 metres in the direction of the Midlothian Ski Centre at Hillend.

As one of the six classic Lothians courses on VisitScotland's James Braid Trail, visitors and guests are assured a warm and friendly welcome, not to mention the unique charm of the layout, which boasts stunning views across Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth.
Lothianburn enjoys a high reputation across the Lothians for the condition and speed of its superb greens, and there are a good variety of holes, including two demanding par 5's and some tricky short par 4's.
There are a mere 30 bunkers, all strategically located, and the signature feature of the course is the 'T - Wood', an area of tall beech trees which saddles the lower slopes of the Pentlands and comes into play on the 7th through 13th.
At just under 6,000 yards, Lothianburn may be short by today's standards, but with a SSS of 69 against the par of 71 and greens which regularly exceed 11 on the Stimpmeter during the summer, it represents a stiff test for golfers of all levels.
Whether you want a challenging round on the James Braid Trail, or want to play the course where Tommy Armour developed his game, or are looking to take advantage of Lothianburn's competitive green fees, you won't be disappointed with your visit to one of Edinburgh's friendliest golf clubs.
