The parkland course is situated in 150 acres on the western outskirts of the town and can be easily spotted when travelling along the eastern carriageway of the A14.
With the delightful market town of Bury St Edmunds often referred to as "the jewel in the crown of East Anglia", it should come as no surprise that it can boast a real "gem" of a golf course.
History The old Bury St Edmunds golf course was developed between 1922 and 1924 on part of the Sexton Hall estate, just south of the Newmarket road. The course architect was the respected Ted Ray,a former winner of the Open and US Open Championships at the end of the Great War.
