Townhead, east of Glasgow, half mile east of M73.
The Longstanton Golf Club Ltd was formed in 1991 and in 1992 the Cambridge Golf Club, a 9 hole golf course and driving range, was opened in Longstanton, just 7 miles north-west of Cambridge city centre.
In 1995 Mr Ken Green became proprietor and in 1997 a further 9 holes were added, completing an 18 hole course which, at 6818, yards is one of the longest in the county.
With the support of the proprietor a separate Cambridge Members' Golf Club was formed, which looks after handicaps, runs competitions, organises matches against other clubs and runs this website.
The course itself is a nicely maturing parkland course designed as two loops of nine, both finishing at the clubhouse, with ponds, ditches and lakes (where you could catch roach, or carp up to 14 lb). There is also a floodlit driving range and a practice putting green.
