For persons travelling from the South of England, the A1 and M1 can assist as far as Leeds area from where the A64 runs straight through to Fulford. Perhaps a more direct route through, is to join the A19 near Doncaster. Those approaching York from the North should find their route a little more scenic, the most helpful roads again probably being the A19 (via Thirsk) and the A64 (via Malton - which incidentally passes Ganton further to the North East). Those journeying from easterly directions should either use the A1079 or the A166 before joining the A64 East of York. The famous City is well served by rail connections and finally the Leeds/Bradford Airport is located approximately 30 miles to the West of York.
