The course itself is an 18 hole, 6298 yard, par 70 test of your golfing skills, founded in 1900. A true links course which lies in the shadow of Dunstanburgh Castle. During the 1940's, part of the 13th 'Castle' hole was used for artillery training!!! Although the only shells being fired there now are the round white variety!
